Katherine Valentine lives in the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut from which she draws inspiration for the Dorsetville series.

"God's angels don't have to take me to heaven when I die," Katherine says, "I already live there."

The idea for Katherine's first book, "A Miracle for St. Cecilia's" came on the heels of a prayer.

"My husband was reaching retirement age and through several horrific tragedies, we had lost everything we had accumulated over a thirty year marriage, including our home and life savings.

"On my husband's sixty-four birthday, I went for an early morning walk, wondering if God had forgotten about our needs. And, as I prayed, God sent a living parable that strengthened my faith and renewed my courage to go forward and not fear.

"Over the next few days, the storyline for "A Miracle for St. Cecilia's "just seemed to "plop" into my head and I knew in my spirit that this was the answer I had sought. Less than a year later, I was given a multi-book contract with Viking Penguin Publishers. God's promise had come to pass.

But these books were more than just an answer to Katherine's temporal needs; they were also the last leg in a spiritual journey that had begun in 1981 when God miraculously healed her of cancer. Her incredible story, the subject of several books, has been featured on television shows including, "Good Morning America".
